Great question! But does it really matter if their work is outstanding and creditworthy? Maybe/ Maybe not. This industry is filled with well known and also new bee planners/coordinators who continually learn on the job because every event is very different SO ideally its all about preference. Money can be a BIG factor but you need to know your budget before you contact a planner/coordinator. We are humans (super humans to be specific) and can work it out with you even if it means referrals to make you happy.
The most important thing to note is that a professional planner/coordinator is very necessary because they know exactly what to do, I can’t stress that enough. Do not underestimate their work(not because I am one myself) because the good ones handle your event with finesse, class and most importantly get the job done leaving you and your entire wedding with smiles. If you ever did a planners/coordinators job for the entire year/ day respectively you would respect their hustle because you couldn’t pay them enough for their sacrifice and dedication to seeing you smile on your special day ( just like your teacher 🤷🏾♀️). Like a MUA, photographer, florist and all the other vendors are expected to make your day a success, having a (competent) cordinator even makes the work much better because we understand the “vendor language”. The team works together to make your day what you want it to be so pay up!
